TCE is funded by Central & State Governments and Management. The courses offered in TCE are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. It was granted Autonomy in the year 1987. TCE has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. The Department of Mathematics strives to maintain high standards of teaching Applied Mathematics in various branches of engineering and to prepare students for leading roles in education, science, business, industry, and other careers. The faculty gives utmost care to bridge the curriculum and the modern needs. The faculty also collaborate with other researchers in solving engineering and scientific problems. This department has a well-equipped "Mathematical Modeling Laboratory" with the latest software in mathematics such as MAPLE, MATHCAD, MATHEMATICA, SYSTAT, MINITAB, LINDO, LINGO, FLUENT, NISA 3D, STAR CD,PHOENICS, COMSOL MultiPhysics, SIMUL, EXTEND,SPSS.

TCE is focused on Research & Development (R&D) in Engineering,Technology and Sciences. The various programs are nurtured through academic research and sponsored research funded by National organizations and industry.
It includes research work undertaken by the faculty in Engineering, Science, Humanities and Architecture which leads to M.S. (by Research) and Ph.D. degree. Research scholars (Full time/ Part time) are admitted to the programs of study by recognized supervisors.
It is undertaken by faculty receiving project funds from National,International organizations and research bodies. It allows creation of infrastructure and resources for the department.
It provides faculty and students to undertake assignments from the industry which includes survey reports, project development, testing and validation.
